Scale
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ tsp cotton candy extract
- Pink gel food coloring
- Blue gel food coloring
- Optional: ½ cup white chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy (3–4 minutes).
- Add egg, vanilla, and cotton candy extract to the butter mixture and mix well.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Divide dough in half. Color one half pink and the other blue using gel food coloring.
- Take small pieces of each dough and gently press together to create swirls. Roll into 1-inch balls.
- Place cookies 2 inches apart on baking sheets and bake for 9–11 minutes until edges are set.
- Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For even softer cookies, chill the dough for 20–30 minutes before baking. Avoid overmixing for best texture and vibrant swirls.
