Description
Pineapple lemonade is a vibrant, tropical twist on classic lemonade, combining the tart zest of fresh lemons with the sweet, juicy flavor of pineapple. Ready in under 10 minutes, this refreshing homemade drink is perfect for summer picnics, backyard barbecues, or simply hydrating with flair. Naturally rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, it’s as nourishing as it is delicious—and incredibly easy to customize with herbs, spices, or sparkling water for a fun variation.
Ingredients
-
2 cups chopped pineapple (fresh or canned in juice, not syrup)
-
¾ cup fresh-squeezed lemon juice
-
3 cups cold filtered water
-
½ cup sugar or honey (adjust to taste based on pineapple ripeness)
-
Ice cubes, as needed
-
Handful of fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
-
In a blender, combine chopped pineapple, lemon juice, sweetener, and 1 cup of water. Blend on high until completely smooth.
-
Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a large pitcher to remove pulp. Press out as much juice as possible.
-
Add the remaining 2 cups of cold water to the pitcher and stir well. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
-
Refrigerate the lemonade for at least 30 minutes to chill and develop flavor.
-
Serve over ice and garnish with mint leaves or lemon slices for a fresh, polished look.
Notes
-
For a sparkling version, replace 1 cup of water with club soda or lemon-lime soda.
-
To make a frozen slushie, blend with ice or frozen pineapple chunks after straining.
-
Add grated ginger or jalapeño slices during blending for a spicy twist.
-
Store leftovers in a sealed pitcher in the fridge for up to 3 days. Stir before serving.
-
Want a winter variation? Warm the lemonade gently on the stove and add cinnamon or cloves for a cozy, cider-like version.
